important Camp Info

In this camp kids ages 8-13 will learn the basics of how to shoot Olympic Recurve Archery. We will cover range and equipment safety and start building the foundation for good shooting technique. All equipment is provided.

Parents: ON DAY 1 there will be a brief orientation with both parents and archers from 9-9:30am. After 9:30am on the first day, you are welcome to leave if you would like. If your child has difficulty following the range rules you might be asked to stay.

The program is specifically designed for beginning archery students who have been interested in trying archery or have taken an introductory class and want to improve their form.  The camp focused on introducing the basics of Olympic Recurve Archery to new students so that they learn the correct processes while having FUN!

The campers who have some prior archery experience will be encouraged to continue enhancing their archery form. Campers may bring their own archery equipment but may be asked to work with the lighter equipment provided by the archery center for learning purposes.

On the concluding Friday of each week-long session, there is an in-house tournament for the students.

In addition to shooting, during the week session, all students will learn about the following (but not limited to) schedule outlined below.

Parents and families are welcome to watch on the last day of the program during the tournament. We ask that there be no disruptions to the tournament in the process as it will be run in accordance with the official tournament protocol as laid out by USA Archery Guidelines.

Day 1 is MANDATORY.  Day 1 outlines ALL Safety Requirements (required by the range’s insurance), Range Protocols, and Steps of Shooting that are used during the week.

If you know your child will not be able to attend Day 1 please register for a different week.

Students absent on Day 1 will NOT be permitted to use range facilities, range equipment, or continue the rest of the camp week.

Due to time constraints, this mandatory overview CANNOT be made up later in the week.

What is AATC?

AATC is a 501(c)3 non-profit. AATC develops elite archers in a competition-style club environment, but we're doing much more than improving the technical skill of our members.  The coaches and the AATC community help and support our members' development and growth through honing individual skill, physical and mental training, focus, drive, determination, and persistence towards excellence.   We believe that our holistically minded, positive, and supportive approach to the sport extends far beyond archery.  This approach helps develop a lifelong love and appreciation for personal development, and the confidence to apply oneself to anything that comes their way. We do this through a small volunteer run club.
